Training

During private lessons we’ll be meeting in your house or at our facility. Your trainer will guide and coach you through the process of training your dog.
Either program is able to be customized to your individual needs. From teaching your dog basic obedience skills to dealing with more serious behavioral problems, we’ll design a program with a concrete plan and specific goals to help you achieve results.

Private lessons will require you to do work in between our meetings. You’ll have homework and may be required to submit videos of your work and progress to your trainer. This is in order to provide you with feedback and help you improve your skills and those of your dog.

In addition to the training, you’ll be counseled on how to improve your structure, management, and leadership abilities. These are all integral parts of any training plan and living with a dog.

Please keep in mind that these private lessons are intended to go beyond simply teaching the dog a behavior. Very often in order to improve behavior you’ll need to take a more comprehensive and holistic approach to the problem. That means addressing issues with the dog and the humans. Be prepared to work.

This program is for puppies 16 months or older. We will meet at our facility for 5 weeks while we work at teaching your dog heel (loose leash walking), sit, down, stay, place, and come. The goal is greater impulse control, better manageability over your dogs behaviors, and the formation of beneficially strong habits. .

Our purpose in designing this program is not to just simply teach the dog a few behaviors but to help you, the owner, raise a well adjusted dog without any serious behavior problems. Each lesson will include training and information on best practices for raising a physically and psychologically healthy dog. This is the individualized program that provides a strong head start for you and your dog.

This is an on-leash, 6 weeks program.

This program was created to help owners address general or specific issues that have resulted in a dog that lacks obedience, shows no respect towards owner/handler, focuses more on the environment than on the handler, runs the

house, and generally tunes out its human.
You’ll get coaching and instruction on how to live with your dog in a manner that rewards good behaviors and discourages undesirable behaviors. You’ll learn how to become a better handler and leader of your dog.

You’ll get instructions on topics such as..

• Establishing and enforcing boundaries
• Improving management and supervision
• Proactively preventing issues from developing
• Providing guidance and direction through leadership

We’ll form a plan and strategy so that you know exactly what needs to be done at all moments to maintain momentum with your training efforts as well as learning how to avoid potential problems from developing.

You’ll learn to communicate with your dog clearly and intentionally and, in doing so, you’ll know how to prevent attention seeking behaviors, unruliness, ignoring, giving into bad impulses, excessive barking, chewing, nipping, jumping and other issues you may be currently experiencing.

You’ll get support when needed via email, text, phone, Facetime, or Zoom.
Restore order and calmness to your household and daily life with your dog.

This is an 8 week, ecollar program for on-leash and off-leash control
This program is ideal for owners who are dealing with a difficult or challenging dog and feel they need more control over their behaviors. The program is also excellent for owners looking to achieve high levels of obedience and off-leash control.

In this program we work on everything outlined in the “Chaos to Control” program but we kick it up to higher levels of obedience. That means increased distractions and longer durations on all exercises that result increased reliability and overall control. We’re aiming to work dogs in real world settings whenever possible.

We’ll work on teaching…

• Place (under distractions and remaining until released by handler)
• A solid Sit and Down (with distraction and remaining until released)
• Coming when called ( off-leash training under distractions)
• Heel position (the dog will walk by your side. On-leash and off, if appropriate)

We will be utilizing an ecollar during most of the training. Our purpose is to help the dog form a positive association with the collar, slow and steady wins the race. That means you’ll have plenty of training to do in between our one-on-one sessions.

Please do not sign up for this program if you are not 100% confident that you can commit to the training. On average, you will be working an hour a day, broken up during the day, each day. Video submissions of your work may be required.
